Easter – Paschal Triduum (Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday)
Easter Sunday occurs between 22 March and 25 April. The main parts of the Paschal Triduum are Holy Thursday evening’s Mass of the Lord’s Supper, then Good Friday afternoon’s commemoration of the Passion of the Lord, and Holy Saturday night’s Paschal Vigil (a service of light, then a service of readings and prayers) and Mass. On Easter Sunday morning Mass is celebrated in each town.
Please note, the day after Good Friday is Holy Saturday; Easter Saturday is the one after Easter Sunday.
Mass times for Easter Sunday differ to normal Sundays; please see the current liturgy calendar to see the actual times.
Weddings at Easter
We do not celebrate weddings on Good Friday or Holy Saturday. While they may take place on Easter Sunday, the priests and deacons may not be available due to their liturgical obligations across the region. It is best not to plan for a wedding on Easter Sunday unless a priest or deacon has been found to be available.
